To Learn and Stay Inspired
What are some of your favorite things to help you learn in this complex and evolving world? Who are the thought leaders who inform better practices and approaches to your work? Here are some of favorites, in no particular order:
NonprofitAF.com- This is Vu Le’s insightful, informed, and hilarious blog dedicated to sharing the highlights and hardships of nonprofit fundraising and management. His insights on the power dynamics within organizations and between funders and grantees are must reads.
Trust-based Philanthropy- I attended a webinar with this collaborative last week and was relieved and inspired that funders are recognizing the grant systems and practices that are impeding more powerful partnerships between those of us on the front lines and those who fund the work.
Vox’s Future Perfect Podcast- While they haven’t posted in several months, their past episodes are honest explorations into the powers and dangers of philanthropy.
WholeWhale.com- This digital consulting firm of my former colleague, George Weiner, is a brilliant place to learn about maximizing your nonprofit’s core assets- your expertise- in the digital world. As many small and medium nonprofits know, communications is an often under-funded function; getting tangible support is a must!
